W.O.W. Paddle Fest at Gilbert Lake

Saturday, July 18-20, 2014, head on out to Gilbert Lake State Park in Laurens, New York, for W.O.W. (Wear It On The Water) Paddle Fest.  Paddling skills, safety, and fun events for the whole family.

Friday, July 18

3:00—5:00 pm : Smart Start Kayaking Course: Must preregister, limited size.

7:00 pm: Boating Bedtime Stories on the Beach

All day: Boatng themed geo‐caching and disc golf. Prizes and chance to win a life jacket.

Saturday, July 19

9:30 am—5:00 pm Smart Start Kayaking Courses— must pre-register, limited size.  Informational Booths, Crafts (bring a white t-shirt) & Games for Kids, Geo-caching, Disc Golf.  On-the-water kayak and SUP demos sponsored by Canoe & Kayak Rentals, and Bass Pro Shop.

1:00 pm : Life Jacket Flash Mob at the Beach!!— Wear your life jacket to the beach or borrow one of ours.  Free event t-shirt for first 100 participants.

2:00—5:00 pm: Mini-wilderness adventure—hike on your own to Lake of the Twin Fawns, enjoy pond study with a Park Naturalist and take a short canoe paddle on the lake.

7:00 pm: Live music on the Beach with Scattered Flurries.
