Reasons Why Majority of Americans Are Exhausted
Daylight Saving Time ended yesterday. I mentioned last week that there was no way I would be participating in the "extra hour" of bar time. I was right. But only because we I forced the party to shut down as soon as the clock struck 2 and slid back to 1am.
It was time to go.
My band, Folk N' Stages had just got done with a show closing for The Experimental Submarines (a great new band that does a ton of old school punk and 90's "grunge" covers) at Denny O's in Fulton. We were very lucky to have a bunch of family & friends come out and support us. However, I saw no one supporting me the following day when the dogs woke me up at 7am and had me dragging ass all day long with no nap.
I'm not ashamed to say it (ok a little bit ashamed to say it) but I was asleep at 7:30pm last night and was a rock until 6:15 when the alarm went off.
I realize why I am exhausted. Poor choices and a lack of any workout regimen. Other people have other excuses apparently.
A survey of 1,500 American workers was done at Zippia and it gave a few reasons for why we are tired all the time.
1. General stress.
2. Anxiety.
3. Sleep issues or insomnia.
4. Irregular sleep schedules.
5. Family obligations.
6. Depression.
7. Dealing with your kids.
8. Worrying about work.
9. Working too many hours.
10. Inconsistent work hours.
They say the ways we COPE with being tired are by consuming caffeine, cranking tunes, eating, napping or just zoning out.
