After finding out what some European countries and Canada are doing to their crosswalks to promote pedestrian safety, I have decided that Oneonta, NY needs to do the same!  The have adopted a method of painting their crosswalks so that they look 3D, each stripe looking as if it's actually a long white bar above the ground and and not just a flat white stripe in the road.  It's the coolest idea!  The only hitch is, as you can imagine, the price tag is a lot more than the traditional painting method but don't we have to start making Oneonta more unique to bring in more visitors and business?  Maybe that's where some of that Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant money can help?  Just a thought.
