Dryer sheets work great at keeping bugs away from you when you are doing outdoor activities but they can also be used for keeping bugs away from garbage.  Next time you have a bbq or outdoor event, place dryer sheets near the trash can to keep those pesky bugs away from your party.  You can also placed used dryer sheets in the bottom of your interior garbage pails.  They will soak up any leaks and help with odors.

Used dryer sheets are an easy way to wipe away soap scum from the shower or to polish the faucets.  They also work well at removing bugs from your windshield and your headlights.  Wet the sheet, wipe on, wait a few minutes then wipe off and rinse with water.  Dryer sheets work as dusting clothes for furniture and help clean and repel pet hair when wiped on upholstery.

I haven't used this trick but I am going to try it.  If your scissors are cutting smoothly, rub a dryer sheet, new or used, over the blades.  They reportedly will cut better.

Rodents and Pests

A friend of mine uses dryer sheets in her camper to deter sheets deter the critters from settling in.  When she closes it up for the season, she lays them around the cushions and in the cupboards.  When she opens the camper up in the spring, she claims there are no pests and it smells fresh.  Another tip, place dryer sheets in the rafters to keep spiders and bugs from nesting.

I hope you find these tips useful.  Let me know how they work for you.  Please share any other ideas from uses you may have.
