“Come On Eileen” Today in Music History [Video]

Pop-rock group, Dexys Midnight Runners, of Birmingham, England, had one of the biggest U.S singles in 1983.  "Come On Eileen" was the number five song of that year but began it's success in the year prior.    First a hit in the U.K., the single became the number one song there, on this day, August 7, 1982.  It would become the best selling single in Britain, also becoming a huge hit in the U.S.:
