It's that time again to do your part in preventing a tragedy.  This Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day and now let's explain what that means for you.  Take a look around the house and check out the medicine cabinet and determine what medication is no longer needed.  Get it out of the house because if it is left in there it could lead to misuse  and a loved one could possible become addicted.

This is where Bassett Healthcare comes in.  They have set up three kiosks in different locations where you can safely dispose of the unwanted pills.  Here is where you can go depending where you are close to.  There is a spot in Cooperstown and Oneonta and one in Delaware County as Delhi is a drop-off spot.

Bassett Medical Center, One Atwell Road, Cooperstown, NY, 13326 – (607) 547-6681 Kiosk: Clinic lobby near outpatient pharmacy | Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

O’Connor Hospital460 Andes Road, Delhi, NY, 13753 – (607) 746-0337             Kiosk: Outpatient pharmacy waiting area | Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

FoxCare Pharmacy, 1 FoxCare Drive, Suite 215, Oneonta (607) 431-5282           Kiosk: Outpatient pharmacy check-out area | Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

This is what is available right now but Bassett Healthcare has plans underway to set up further drop-off sites which would ensure that people would not have to leave their community to get rid of these unwanted medications if a drug take-back kiosk is right there.  If you can't make it this Saturday for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, Bassett does remind everyone that medication disposal bins are available the entire year at the same locations listed above.
