15.9 Million Dollar Housing Project

Construction is finally set to begin on the $15.9 million housing project right here in Oneonta, NY. This project is planned to be called ‘Oneonta Heights’ and this will be a 60-unit affordable housing development, aimed for families and seniors.

This housing project will contain seven buildings, six being brand new construction projects and one “strategically located” rehab. These buildings will be placed in three clusters throughout the neighborhood. It is estimated to take about 18 months to complete, with an estimated project opening in August 2017.

The general contractor for this project will be Housing Visions Construction Co (HVCC). HVCC plan to hire mostly local laborers and carpenters and they are making a concerned effort to buy their building materials from local suppliers. They stress the importance of community and keeping everyone in Oneonta a part of this process.

Once this housing project is complete, it will look to fill two full-time positions to help manage the properties.
