Two Area Non-Profits Receive State Grants for Domestic Violence Programs
State senator James Seward announced yesterday that local domestic violence programs would be receiving direct, unrestricted grants through the state senate.
Among those receiving grants are Opportunities for Otsego – $10,000 — and Chenango County Catholic Charities – $5,000.
Along with providing funding grants to local non-profit violence intervention programs, Senator Seward says the legislature has passed a tougher domestic violence agenda, which includes the tools law enforcement and prosecutors need to put dangerous criminals behind bars.
