Oneonta Fishing Derby Scheduled for August 11

The 55th annual Fishing Derby presented by the Oneonta City Recreation Department and the Susquehanna Bass Association will be held on Saturday, August 11 at Hodges Pond in Neahwa Park, Oneonta.

The Fishing Derby is a free “catch and release” competition. All participants must provide their own pole, bait/lures, and a clean bucket to bring their winning catch in for weighing.

Parents/Guardians must complete a registration and release form in order for their child to be eligible to participate in the Fishing Derby. All participants must be at least 5 years of age and no older than 15.

Parents may pre-register their children for the derby at the Recreation Office during normal business hours. For more information, please contact the Recreation Office at 432-0680.
