A quick, easy way to cut back on calories?  Here is a simple trick that I stumbled upon this past weekend...

Funny little story about the Chillow.  Oh, you don't know what a Chillow is?  It is a cooling pad that you insert in your pillowcase to keep your pillow cool while you rest.  Anyway, last night, my 5 year old had a bad dream so I told him to crawl in with mommy and daddy.

Time flies when you are having fun!  Sunday went by so fast.  We started with a little holiday shopping, some visiting, and as the snow came down, we moved on to some sledding.

I think I may be in over my head.  I volunteered to make the family Thanksgiving turkey this year.  Why?  Why did I do this?  I think it was a moment of feeling all grown up and homey.  Truth is, I am just plain scared of what might happen.

I am always very sensitive to stories about "Dads" since losing my father to cancer nearly four years ago.  A friend of mine, who also lost her dad, shared this video with me that brought me to tears.  I want to share it with you because it is emotionally powerful for anyone who has lost a parent...

Yesterday, all over the listening area, kids reported back to school for the first day of the new school year.  This is an exciting day, well at least for me.  I am sure there are many kids that would argue that they would rather be doing something else.  But for me, it is all about making it a celebration.

I would so travel to Los Angeles to try this sandwich!  It is called, The Big Fat Fatty.  This monstrous delight costs $49.99 on the menu at Fat Sal's Deli, but if you can eat all of it in forty minutes or less, it is free. The ingredients are mouth watering, consisting of

Don't be fooled at how pretty this plant looks in the sunlight.  Inside this plant is an oil, urushiol, that will cause an irritating skin rash.  Poison Sumac, poison ivy, and poison oak contain this oil in every part of the plant, including flowers, berries, and roots.  My husband recently had a run in with one of these deceptive plants.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the weekend's events at Relay For Life of Chenango County.  The Chenango County Fairgrounds filled with a common spirit as teams walked to raise money for cancer research.  I was honored to be a part the event.
