Iconic New York Landmarks Inspire Top Globetrotting Baby Names
Every year, we look forward to the latest list of the most popular baby names, but this list is different.
The most recent popular baby name list is one that looks at the most popular baby names based on global travel, over the course of the last twenty years. We were happy yet surprised to see that several names on the list were influenced by iconic landmarks and locations right here in New York!
This is perhaps a longshot, a stretch if you will, but SkyParkSecure noted that the name Sophia has been the top name for baby girls over the last two decades and speculates that the name could be inspired by Hagia Sophia, which is an ornate mosque that can be found in the heart of Istanbul’s old city.
On the other hand, for boys, the top name is Ellis. SkyParkSecure notes could have very well been inspired by Ellis Island in New York which as we all know was the entry into the United States for more than 12 million immigrants who began arriving in the early 1900s.
