2 in 3 New York Parents Plan To Take a Vacation Without the Kids This Year
Summertime is one of the best times of the year for kids because school is out which means hanging out with friends, swimming, staying up late, and vacationing. But summer isn't just for the kids- at least not this year.
Despite insane gas prices plaguing the entire country, two in three New York parents say they're planning to go on their very own vacation. The vacation might not be long but they're still planning to get out of town and go someplace "grown-up" where they can relax and let their hair down.
New Yorkers have been through a lot in the last few years and many have lost friends and family members and have decided, instead of staying cooped up, to get out and live life and, take a much-deserved break just for themselves.
Family Destinations Guide surveyed nearly 5,000 parents and learned that an incredible number of parents in New York, 61 percent (almost two in three) of them, planned to take their own vacation with adult friends, leaving the kids behind.
The survey also revealed the destinations most popular for a getaway with New York parents and these are the top seven locations:
#7: Panama City Beach, Florida. The self-declared hometown of “The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches.”
#6: South Padre Island, Texas. There are 24 miles of beaches situated on the tip of Texas, right in the Gulf of Mexico.
#5: Miami Beach, Florida. Art deco, shopping, and loads of beachfront bars.
#4: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. 24-hour parting, basically.
#3: Cancun, Mexico. White beaches, and exuberant nightlife.
#2: Key West, Florida. Fishing, museums, dancing and lots of live music.
#1: Las Vegas, Nevada. Gambling mecca and all-you-can-eat buffets. Need we say more?
