Cuomo Proposes Way to Relieve Border Congestion in Buffalo

Governor Andrew Cuomo has written the U.S. Department of Homeland Security secretary Janet Napolitano outlining his rationale for implementing pre-inspection of commercial vehicle traffic at the Peace Bridge in Buffalo and Fort Erie, Ontario.

Cuomo says delays and congestion experienced by commercial carriers could be eased if the DHS would implement a technology-driven border management system which will streamline the customs process on the second-busiest border crossing in the United States.
