Madonna Louise Ciccone of Bay City, Michigan is our Friday flashback artist of the day.  In the eighties she scored twenty, top 20 hits including seven number one songs!

In the late seventies, Madonna was a part of the Alvin Ailey dance troupe.  She was a member of the "Breakfast Club" in 1979 then formed her own band "Emmy" in 1980.  Once married to actor Sean Penn (1985-1989), then married to Guy Ritchie (2000-2008).

She is still one of today's biggest stars and has built quite a list of accomplishments as a singer, songwriter, producer, dancer, actress, film producer, film director, fashion designer, author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.   Busy lady.  Madonna the best selling female rock artist of the 20th century!
