Fruitcake Do Not Fear This Holiday Treat [Photos]

This traditional holiday dessert has gotten a bad wrap through the years.  Jokes about being used as door stops or speed bumps, being the one the most re-gifted items during Christmas, and the punch line to many holiday jokes.  Well, I never thought I would say this, but I like it.

Yesterday I tried a piece of homemade fruitcake, (not the stuff wrapped in thick plastic that has a 3 year shelf life), but fresh, warm fruitcake and I really, really liked it.  Of course I had to have some fun with it.

This baby weighed in at over two pounds!  Don't forget to add in the slice I cut off.

My single slice was a quarter pounder!  Warm with melted butter...mmmmm.

Never thought I would say it, but I like fruitcake.  It only took me a couple decades (cough, cough) to try it, but I did and I would eat it again.
