Disgusting Food Habits

A recent survey from Health.com revealed that we might not be the most sanitary when it comes to cooking.  Four hundred readers and one hundred professional chefs participated in the survey and the results may surprise you.

• 73% lick the spoon while cooking
• 76% double dip
• 54% serve food that dropped on the floor
• 52% serve food past the expiration date
• 31% don't toss out food if they find a bug

So, basically, we're gross.  Okay not everyone but the percentages are much higher than I expected them to be.  I do lick the spoon and I double dip.  Guilty of those but not the others.  Now, if I'm out, I make the extra effort to not double dip so don't worry if we're at the same party.
