Cooperstown’s Legends Game Returns to Doubleday Field on Saturday, May 23.  Ticket Packages for Hall of Fame Classic Available Starting March 2, 2015.

The game’s memories live forever in Cooperstown.  And once every spring, the legends who authored the National Pastime’s greatest moments come together at the home of baseball for a weekend that has truly become a Classic.

Hall of Fame members Rollie Fingers, Tom Glavine, Phil Niekro and Ozzie Smith will be joined by recently retired players representing all 30 major league teams for a seven-inning legends game on Saturday, May 23 at Cooperstown’s historic Doubleday Field.  The 2015 Hall of Fame Classic, presented by Ford Motor Company, highlights a weekend of family entertainment programs designed to celebrate the timeless connection of baseball across generations, while saluting the contributions of those who served our nation’s military over Memorial Day Weekend.

The Classic, now in its seventh year and fueled by assistance from MLB, features the pre-game Home Run Contest at 1 p.m. and the Cooperstown Main Street Game Day Parade at 12 noon. First pitch of the Classic is slated for 2:05 p.m.

Hall of Famers Phil Niekro and Ozzie Smith return as team captains and managers.  They will be joined by Hall of Famers Rollie Fingers and Tom Glavine, along with two Hall of Famers to be announced, who will serve as coaches for the teams.  The full rosters of Classic players will be in announced later this spring.  Tickets for the 2015 Hall of Fame Classic will go on sale at 9 a.m. EST Monday, March 2.

Players already committed to appear at the 2015 Hall of Fame Classic include:

Ron Cey (Dodgers), Travis Fryman (Indians), Jacque Jones (Twins), Roy Oswalt (Astros), Kerry Robinson (Cardinals), Aaron Rowand (White Sox), Alan Trammell (Tigers) and Dan Wheeler (Rays).

In addition to the Classic, Hall of Fame Classic Weekend features additional family events designed to promote interactivity between fans and their baseball heroes.  Following the game on Saturday, the Hall of Fame will reprise its A Night at the Museum program, now in its third season.  Hall of Fame legends and former players will greet fans throughout the Museum on Saturday evening beginning at 7 p.m.  Legends participants will canvass the Museum during the course of a two-hour event that will bring the Museum to life with special programs and interactions.  While the Night at the Museum program is not an autograph session, fans should remember to bring their camera to capture their special memories.

Also as part of Classic Weekend, Hall of Fame members will lead an exclusive golf outing, with a limited number of spots available for golfers, at the beautiful Leatherstocking Golf Course on Otsego Lake.  For more information on supporting the Hall of Fame through this exclusive golf outing, please call 607-547-0310.

The Museum will also offer events as part of Classic Weekend tailored for a variety of audiences, including the Cooperstown Classic Clinic for youngsters ages 7-12 on Friday, May 22 from 4-7 p.m. An exclusive photo opportunity with Hall of Fame members will take place on Saturday, May 23 at 9 a.m.  Pre-orders are required for both opportunities by calling 607-547-0397.
