State Senator Tom Libous says the state budget offers some good news for taxpayers, families and schools.
It includes a 3.4 billion dollar increase to the Star Property Tax program and keeps spending growth below 2%.
Libous also announced school aid restoration for Chenango County, almost double the aid promised by Governor Cuomo. Chenango County schools received a 5.6% average increase, totaling $2.56 million. On the subject of Common Core, the senator says the budget includes a number of reforms to delay or block Common Core until they "get it right."
