Delaware County Deputies Participate in Operation Safe Stop

Delaware County deputies recently participated in Operation Safe Stop, a state-wide enforcement initiative to combat the illegal passing of stopped school buses.

Sheriff’s deputies shadowed school buses during their morning and afternoon bus routes in the Downsville, Deposit, Delhi, Franklin and Stamford Central School Districts.

During Operation Safe Stop, Sheriff’s deputies issued one traffic summons to an individual that passed a Franklin School District Bus that was stopped with flashing red lights.
