State AG Urges Residents to Sign Up for Affordable Care Act

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman on Monday issued a consumer advisory to New Yorkers urging them to sign up for affordable health care insurance through "New York State of Health."

That is the official marketplace to purchase health plans under the Affordable Care Act. The State Health Exchange helps New Yorkers find affordable health insurance.

Schneiderman, though, warns applicants to make sure they are dealing with the official NY State of Health marketplace and its certified counselors. Do not give any personal information to anyone not a certified councilor for the exchange, and do not pay someone to find the plan for you.
