The second in a series of free Thursday night concerts will take place tonight at 7 p.m. in East Side Park in Norwich. Last week’s concert filled the park with fans of the New Riders of the Purple Sage.

This week Hot Day at the Zoo the quintet features a mix of folk, blues, ragtime, and jazz mixed with progressive bluegrass and Americana influenced rock and roll. The group has a growing list of festival performances and was awarded the Folk/Americana/Roots Act of 2012 by the New England music awards.

Tonight's concert in East Side Park in Norwich starts at 7 p.m. and is free to everyone. The concerts will lead up to the Chenango Blues Festival in August at the Norwich fairgrounds. The free concerts are underwritten by NBT Bank.
