The volunteers have been working all year for this weekend event.  The Ricky J “Pit” Parisian race, named The Pit Run, marks it’s 20th Anniversary this weekend. The event includes a sanctioned 10k race, a 5k run, a 2 mile stroll and a kid’s fun run. A community celebration of Rick’s life and a fundraiser for local youth programs and scholarships, too too. The excitement begins on Saturday with the Pit Pasta Dinner and races on Sunday.  Nancy and Angie from the Pitrun committee tell us more about where the proceeds go, the Pit Pasta Dinner, and about the chip used to time racers:

The delicious Pit Pasta Dinner sponsored by the Oneonta Lions Club on Saturday October 5, 2013 from 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, 70 River St, Oneonta, NY. Tickets for adults are $7.00 each, kids 6 to 12 cost $4.00 each, and kids under 6 are free.

You can register online or download the form and bring it with you to the Pit Pasta Dinner or to the race. Race day is coming up October 6, 2013.
