Did you make it to Oneonta's first ever Hometown 4th of July parade on Friday?  I always thought that was something area residents were missing out on as part of the 4th of July celebrations and I was very happy to hear that the committee for this year's Hometown 4th of July Celebration (a.k.a. First Night Oneonta ) decided to move the First Night parade to the 4th of July, since New Year's Eve is so darn cold and most people would rather stay in to be warm than stand outside and freeze, to watch equally as cold parade participants go by.  Plus, let's face it, it's easier to get both participants and viewers for a warm weather parade than a cold one.

Below, enjoy pictures I took from this past Friday's parade through Downtown Oneonta.
