On this day May 15th, 1928 Mickey Mouse made his first appearance in a silent film "Plane Crazy" by The Walt Disney Studio. It was given a test screening to a theater audience but could not find a distributor. Later that year, "Steamboat Willie" (which had sound) was released and we all know how successful that turned out to be! With popularity on the rise, Disney added a soundtrack to "Plane Crazy".

I 'm glad that the mouse has learned some manners since then!
