Martika’s “Toy Soldiers” Today In Music History [Videos]

Latin singer/actress, Martika, born Marta Marrera, is featured today in music history.  On this day, July 22, 1989, she started a two week run at number one the U.S. singles chart with, "Toy Soldiers".  This was her only number one song.

Children of the eighties will remember Martika as a star of "Kids Incorporated", a youth program that featured musical numbers.  Other celebrities that starred in the show include Fergie and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
