Alec Burks put in 30 points in his return, Julius Randle added 25 as the Knicks defeated the Spurs 102-98 as they continue to battle for home court during the playoffs

The New York Knicks were given a 2% chance of making the playoffs this year, so excuse me if I am a giddy as a school girl, the New York Knicks are headed to the post season for the first time in eight years.

The brain trusts in the Knicks organization are waking up and making sensible and promising choices, with draft selections and free agency.

If you look at the decision making of this franchise over the past twenty years, and all the costly moves that include, Antonio McDyess, Eddy Curry, Jerome James, and Joakim Noah whose total contracts exceeded 175 million dollars, for players who spent more time on the bench than the coach.

This team is creating a winning culture, and coach Tom Thibodeau has earned the respect and trust of all of his players and coaches.

The Knicks will finish the regular season with two games at home this weekend against Charlotte on Saturday, and the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

They still have a chance to get the fourth position in the Eastern Conference that would give them home court advantage in the first round, but they have to win out and hope Atlanta loses.

I don’t see this team advancing past the first or second round this season, but they have plenty of cap space, and with their performance this seasons I think they can attract one or two major players in the off season.

If you’re a Knicks fan, you have to be happy and hopeful.

Go Knicks!
