Chenango, Delaware and Otsego Counties are part of the regions that Governor  Andrew Cuomo announced on Wednesday, would be given the green light to to enter into Phase 4 of reopening New York State today and it's official, we've now entered Phase 4 according to the Governor's office.

Phase 4 will not look as it was originally planned - the final stage of reopening the state. The plan has been modified by the Governor and not all businesses will get to reopen during this phase. The ones that do get to reopen are considered "low-risk" and include: historical sites, aquariums, art galleries, museums, botanical gardens, and zoos.

Businesses that remain closed until further notice are gyms, indoor performing arts productions, movie theaters, indoor concerts, casinos, bowling alleys, arcades, and amusement parks. The partial explanation from the Governor is that more research is needed on the virus potentially spreading among people through air cooling systems indoors. After being thoroughly examined  and deemed safe, those businesses that remain closed will get to reopen.

There is some more good news however, churches can now increase their gatherings from 25% to 33% of the building's capacity and social gatherings have doubled going from 25 people to 50 people so progress is being made on how and where we're all allowed to gather.

Hang in there and continue with virus safety protocols to continue the cycle of low COVID-19 cases. We'll all get there faster by following the virus precautionary measures to protect us all set by New York State.
