I got to be a part of the BASE Race in Cooperstown this past Saturday.  The National Baseball Hall of Fame kicked off a new exhibit, the BASE program, which stands for "Be A Superior Example".  Created for all ages, it has four foundations: Fitness, Nutrition, Character, and Fair Play.  Just like in baseball, you have to run all four bases to score.  The national launch is September 4th, 2012. Both the 10k and5k began and ended at the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown, N.Y.    I had the pleasure of doing a remote broadcast from Cooper Park outside of the Baseball Hall of Fame an Museum.  It was about the half mark for the 5k run.  Many youngsters took part in the run and it was fun to watch them run along side their parents.

Congrats to Robert Fritz, winner of the 10k in 38:17 and to Amanda LoPiccolo, winner of the women's 10k.
