The Office of State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has posted information online detailing charitable donations raised for Hurricane Sandy relief.

The report is in response to questions on the use of donations to charities. Eighty-eight charities responded to the survey raising about $400 million.

The five charities reporting the most contributions are:

1. The American red cross $188 million;
2. Robin hood foundation $67 million;
3. The mayors fund to advance New York City $45 million;
4. Empire state relief fund $15.4 million;
5. The Salvation Army, USA eastern territory $14.3 million
