Oneonta Fire Department

Yesterday, late afternoon, the Oneonta Fire Department (OFD) reported and responded to a truck on fire on Grand Street in the City of Oneonta.

A fire at an Oneonta home this past Saturday, May 28th at around 11:20 am turned Memorial Day weekend into a nightmare for the residents at 36 High Street.

Unfortunately there have been some reminders in Otsego County as to why The NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has a burn ban in place through May 14.

Oneonta Fire Fighters responded around 1:00 am Sunday to a fully involved fire at a residence with a vehicle parked next to it.

One of the sections of Motel 88 (formerly the Oasis Motor Inn) which is across the street from Sloan's NY Grill in Oneonta, NY was engulfed in flames yesterday. When the Oneonta Fire Department arrived, a unit of the motel was fully engulfed in flames and thankfully, there was no one inside.

Not clearing snow from around vents leading out of your house have the potential to cause health and safety hazards
