The National Weather Service in Binghamton says severe storms are brewing for Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties starting this afternoon.

Utility crews are working hard this morning on a large number of downed power lines from falling trees and tree limbs all over Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties.

Here we are in late February with another pending snow storm coming in Thursday night with the potential for 7 or more of the white stuff falling within a 12-hour window in Central New York.

There is a storm predicted for Chenango and Otsego County that is being watched by the National Weather Service in Binghamton and at this point in time, it's been dubbed by the NWS as a "winter storm watch" starting late Wednesday night.

For such a fun, cute, and carefree name, snowstorm "Izzy" sure did leave behind more snow than we bargained for in Oneonta! It's interesting how this storm rolled out in our area because the National Weather Service in Binghamton wouldn't lay claim to any snowstorm total until Sunday.

Considering that NWS is not predicting an amount of snow at this time, it's best to prepare and plan ahead for heavy snowfall and the possibility of ice.
