The COVID testing center at SUNY Oneonta yesterday made the announcement that the 10,000th pool test for COVID-19 was administered since opening mid January in preparation for the spring semester. The recipient of that test was student Clara Culeton (pictured above) who is a senior psychology major and member of the women's basketball and volleyball teams.

Pool testing results show the overall positivity rate has fallen from 0.74 percent in late January to 0.19 percent Feb. 19. Repeated testing enables college officials to detect possible spikes in COVID infections and respond in real-time to protect the campus community. It's an effort that seems to be working since case numbers on campus have remained very low. According to the SUNY Oneonta COVID-19 dashboard, currently there are 4 confirmed cases on campus, all of which are the only ones in quarantine with no hospitalizations.
