The month of March is the time of year for basketball tournaments. Springbrook, which recently completed a $22.5 million expansion, will be hosting its first ever invitational Special Olympics basketball tournament at noon Saturday.

"In the beginning everybody will meet up at the Springbrook school, doing opening ceremonies," Springbrook basketball coach Nicole Sokolowski said. "Eight games will be happening in two division -- four in the first division, and four in the second division."

The Springbrook Scorpions, which will host the tournament, are coming off a bronze medal varsity finish during the Westchester-Putnam Special Olympics Basketball Invitational in Somers.

Spingbrook's tournament takes place at 105 Campus Drive in Oneonta.

Because space is limited, attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling 607-286-7171 extension 282.
