State Senator James Seward announced senate passage of legislation he sponsored to preserve voter choice in Otsego County. According to Senator Jim Seward’s Office the legislation was developed after District 10 Representative Dan Wilber inadvertently overlooked the requirement to sign his oath of office within 30 days of his swearing-in triggering an automatic vacancy. Wilber was sworn in but because of the mistake, he will have to run again this November. If Seward’s bill is signed into law that requirement would be removed and Wilber would serve his full two-year term.
