Nearly 1500 homes and businesses in Delaware and Otsego Counties will be connected to high speed internet service under a federal grant announced by U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer. The nearly $40 million from the Federal Communications Commission will connect more than 15,000 rural properties statewide with a minimum speed of 25 mbps and a goal of 100 mbps. The federal funding is contingent upon the state’s current broadband investments.
