A former assistant manager in Schoharie County has been accused of stealing from residents of that county's ARC.

The New York state attorney general's office says 31-year-old Samantha Cross used disabled residents' allowances to buy herself four cell phones, thirteen calling cards, and two music gift cards. Cross claimed the purchases were for residents, but they never took possession or used the items.

Cross pleaded not guilty in Schoharie town court on charges of grand larceny and falsifying business records.
