The Oneonta Rotary Club is not just serving up plain old pancakes for their annual Pancake Day coming up at the Oneonta Elks Club on October 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., these are special "Pancakes for Peace" according to Rotary President Lynne Sessions.  How can pancakes be peaceful you ask?  Here's how it all ties together...

The Rotary International Youth Scholarship Program, an academic and cultural exchange, has the mission of building international friendships, world understanding and ultimately peace through having high school students spend an academic year attending school in a different country. So if you come and eat pancakes at Rotary's Pancake Day, you'll be supporting the youth exchange program, and therefore, promoting peace in the world.

So if you would like to support global understanding and peace, you can simply come to the Oneonta Rotary's Pancake Day and enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast of pancakes with real maple syrup, sausage, applesauce, coffee, tea, milk, and orange juice.  The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
