Today, October 7,  in music history, we go back to 1989, when Paula Abdul finally climbed to number one on the U.S. album chart with "Forever Your Girl".  It was on the Billboard 200 for sixty four weeks before it hit the top status.  She set a new record for having the longest run on the album chart before hitting number one.  I am surprised it took so long when you consider the album produced five hot singles including four number ones.  "Straight Up", "Forever Your Girl", "Cold Hearted", and "Opposites Attract" were all number one hits.  Plus "The Way That You Love Me" climbed to number three.
