The Otsego County Department of Health is reporting the 56th death due to coronavirus-related complications. Due to privacy laws, no information was released regarding the person's name, gender or age. Looking at COVID-19 case numbers reported by The Otsego County Department of Health (4/13): there were 27 new confirmed cases yesterday with 9 people currently hospitalized with complications from the virus.  There are currently 138 known active cases in the county with a total of 56 COVID-19 related deaths. The Health Dept. has a COVID-19 dashboard with daily updates for the latest information.

In state vaccine related news, New York State is pausing use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine while an investigation proceeds into blood clots that occurred in a few individuals who received that vaccine 6 to 13 days after the shot was administered according to Governor Cuomo's Office.

Delaware County Health officials have an update from yesterday (4/13), reporting 6 new cases. At that time, there were 113 active cases and 17 people hospitalized. Delaware County Public Health announced a first-dose only COVID-19 vaccination clinic takes place this Thursday, April 15 at the A.O. Fox Tri-Town Campus on Pearl St. W. in Sidney. Hours are from 9:30 a.m. until 3:40 p.m. CLICK HERE to register. Walk-ins will not be accepted. This is the Moderna vaccine so only those 18 and older can participate. Do not register unless you meet the current eligibility.

In Chenango County, the health department reported new COVID-19 stats for the period of 4/10 to 4-12 on their facebook page. At that time, the health department was reporting 119 active cases, 7 hospitalizations related to the virus, and the total number of deaths related to COVID-19 complications are currently at 68. For those who are currently eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine and want to get on the county's wait list, send an email with your name, date of birth, address, phone number and eligibility criteria to COVID19@co.chenango.ny.us.
