Otsego County Board Raises Bed Tax

After a unanimous vote by the Otsego County Board, it was decided that our county's bed tax will be increased by 50 percent after September 1, 2021 according to AllOTSEGO.

A 50% increase translates to the bed tax rising from its current 4% up to 6%. The starting date was decided upon to avoid impacting visitors to the county who have already booked rooms for this summer. According to the board, the bed tax is generally "not paid by local people".
