Otego Motorcyclist Hits SUV; Airlifted To Hospital
An investigation by New York State Police continues following a motorcycle accident at the intersection of James F. Lettis Highway and State Rt. 28 in the Town of Oneonta. According to state police, 29-year-old Anthony Masi of Otego was driving when he crashed into an SUV. The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash but Masi was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to Albany Medical Center after being admitted to A.O. Fox Hospital.
There's a twist to this story, as it turns out that the motorcycle Masi was riding on had been stolen at some point. There's no word on Masi's condition, although his injuries are not life-threatening, or if charges will be filed against him or not.
One thing we know for sure is that the intersection where that accident took place is a very busy one and a place where all drivers should be very alert. So drive safe and be on the lookout for motorcycles and those on bicycles.
