According to AllOTSEGO, when the Oneonta City Council meets on Tuesday they will vote on a list of 9 nominees for the city’s Police Community Advisory Board to review rules and procedures following the Oneonta community's and national response to the killing of George Floyd, an African American Minneapolis man, at the hands of a police officer.

Mayor Gary Herzig and Chief Doug Brenner proposed the board’s creation to make certain that there are adequate safeguards against bias and unequal treatment. The first meeting is expected to happen in late August or early September.
