One of the biggest topics is condensing the elementary schools. Shea says the school tax levy will be 1.81 percent.

To make up for the loss of state revenue, which was excess of $2 million, Shea suggests in the budget condensing the elementary schools from four to three.

Valley View, Greater Planes and Riverside Elementary would remain open. There will also be staff cuts in the budget. The budget would close a $1 million gap.

To keep all schools open, voters can decide to accept Proposition 1, which would raise taxes another 5.15 percent.
