Officer Injured During Drug Arrest in Norwich

A Norwich man faces multiple charges including assaulting a police officer as a result of the man’s arrest on Thursday.According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, Joshua Shurock of Norwich was being taken into custody as the result of a tip he was in possession of narcotics when he struggled with officers physically injuring a detective. That officer was treated and released from Chenango Memorial Hospital. Shurock is held without bail at the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail pending his next court appearance Tuesday.
