National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Is Saturday
Most of us probably have old unused or expired prescription medication sitting in our medicine cabinets taking up space because we just haven't bothered to do a proper clean-out or we don't know what to do with them. It's easy to get rid of unwanted prescriptions on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day which is coming up on Saturday, October 27.
If you are wondering why you can't just throw them away in the garbage or flush them down the toilet...according to the Otsego County Sheriff's Office, by properly disposing of expired & unwanted prescription drugs you can help prevent pill abuse and theft. They are lending a helping hand with proper disposal by participating in the US Drug Enforcement Agency take back day. You can drop off any expired and unwanted prescription drugs at the Otsego County Sheriff's Office this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. They will not accept:
- Illicit Drugs
- Needles/ Sharpes
- Any Liquids
If you can't make a point to stop by with your prescriptions on Saturday, The Sheriff’s Office also has a drop box in it’s lobby open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
