When I say "Eagle", what comes to mind? Is it that the band from Los Angeles that was  inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998? Is it a song by the Steve Miller Band? Or is it that proud bird that flies in the air and represents what's great about America?

I'm going with the latter and much like our country at this moment, this majestic bird in Cooperstown is going through a bit of a rough time. Also like America, it hasn't given up and is looking toward better days ahead.

Injured Eagle Found In Cooperstown New York

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office has let us know about an injured eagle found at Brookwood Point in Cooperstown on Monday, August 8. The office was called to the birds location and captured the eagle that seemed sick and disoriented...sounds like the good ole USA.

The Otsego County Sheriff's Office and the New York Environmental Conservation Officer Mark Vencak have taken the bird to an animal rehabilitator for treatment. The raptor is resting at the Cornell University Animal Hospital while it recuperates.

The hospital is evaluating the eagle and will try and figure out the cause of the animals distress. Maybe it's been watching the news for too long, that does it to me. They'll continue treatment and will schedule a release for this Bird of Jove.

We wish the best for this majestic bird and hope for a full recover. I'm praying the same for the Land of the Free.
