National Kiss Day — My First Kiss

Today is National Kiss Day.  Do you remember your first real kiss?  I do.  It wasn't pretty.  In fact it was pretty awful.

I won't give too much info to protect feelings, although I'm sure he knows it was bad,  too.  We had just gone to the movies and the date was coming to an end.  There was a definite awkwardness going on.  I had a feeling he was going to try to kiss me.  We talked for a moment then he leaned.  OMG!  What do I do? I've never kissed before!!  "Okay" I told myself, "just do what they do on tv".  Our lips met and I started moving my head around like crazy, just like on tv!  Clearly this was wrong.  The kiss ended quickly and then...silence.  I went home thinking, "Was that really what kissing is all about?"  My suspicions of  it being a bad kiss were confirmed when there was no attempt of a kiss on the next date.  Oh, well.  Kissing is a learned skill and I'd like to think I've come a long way since then.  Happy Kissing!
