Mt. Vision Harvest Festival & Freedom Fair Organizers and Attendees Slapped With Fines
The Otsego County Department of Health issued a cease and desist order last Thursday to stop a Mount Vision public event from happening that was scheduled for this past weekend. According to health officials, organizers of the 23rd NY Harvest Festival & Freedom Fair / Political Rally which is dubbed as "the longest running, private, cannabis legalization event in the state", held the event anyway and violated two executive orders which state that businesses and events must limit all gatherings which are nonessential to 50 or fewer individuals if they’re being held lawfully.
The proprietors of the event have been issued citations for violations of public health law and executive orders. They will have to pay a $15,000 fine and those that attended the event and did not wear a face covering are subject to a $1,000 fine by law.
