Mariah Carey is the Newest ‘American Idol’ Judge

Fox Broadcasting just made it official: Mariah Carey will replace Jennifer Lopez on American Idol.

Carey had long been rumored to replace Lopez. But after hubby Nick Cannon said Idol couldn't afford the singer/actress, those rumors died out.

Until today, when Mariah was announced as the newest host.
