Judge Overrules Sidney’s Ban On Fracking

A ban on hydraulic fracturing in the Town of Sidney has been thrown out by a Delaware County judge.

The town board voted last year to ban natural gas drilling in the town, but the judge ruled the actions of the board were invalid.

The board vote was 3-1 to ban fracturing while the judge ruled that the town needed at least four votes for the local ban to be in force.
